Issue #135

☁️What’s on my mind

I spent a last few days on the coast, at the biggest IT conference in the region, the NT Conference in Portorož, Slovenia.

While meeting people from the trenches, from whom I heard a few horror stories that happened due to lack of security, I was also targeted a few days before.

Somebody pretending to be me tried to change the bank account number where I get my salary from my employer. Thank God the individuals in our payroll department are well-trained not to be fooled.

In one of the presentations, the speaker quoted someone who said: Hackers don’t break in. They log in.

Yes, it can be that simple with the lack of identity protection. But, as I have experienced first-hand, it is just as important to have educated colleagues. Properly trained individual is the key.

Have a really nice rest of the week,
Matic Z.
