Issue #133

☁️What’s on my mind

The European Union often surprises with its decisions on what business practices it allows, whether it is business-to-business or business-to-customer.

Apple will have to sell phones in the EU with a conventional USB-C charger. This is great news for all consumers who will be able to use a single charger for all their devices.

However, due to a competition complaint, Microsoft will have to unbundle some of its service bundles to exclude Teams and offer separate SKUs for Teams.

Is this good news? Absolutely – for consumers who don’t use Teams.

But for enterprise users, who rely heavily on Teams within their license packages, this is (again) a price increase. Yes, the basic package will be a little cheaper, but when you add in Teams, which in the case of Enterprise packages will have to be purchased separately, the total is higher than it is now.

In short, yet another decision by the European Union that actually makes its economy worse off.

Only time will tell how many crumbs Slack will pick up as a result of this EU decision.

Have a really nice rest of the week,
Matic Z.
