☁️What’s on my mind

I’m continuing the last issue’s rant about cloud security. Is IT secure? It depends. Security experts are warning us that only disconnected, turned off, unplugged, and hidden in a vault computer is fairly secure. Yet not completely secure. There’s nothing like 100% secure in the world of IT.

Recent whistleblowing from employee of Ubiquiti Networks shows we are all vulnerable and more vulnerable than we know. Because some companies are behaving irresponsibly and not taking enough care of their own IT security we are at risk of exposing our personal data.

And following the saying that there are only two kinds of companies, those that were hacked and those that don’t know they were hacked, it’s only a matter of time when M365 or Azure will be on the front page of Hacker News or similar news sites.

Solution? Running away from cloud solutions? That would be even worse.
In my humble opinion not using all the data leak prevention tools Microsoft 365 provides is just as irresponsible as keeping customers in the dark about the data breach that happened months ago like in the FB case.

Have a nice week.
Matic Z.
